A colonoscopy showed a small patch of high grade dysplasia in the upper part of my colon. the area had some irritation as well. can the dysplasia be removed with a second colonoscopy? im scared i will lose my colon?

If the lesion was removed or treated then a followup colonoscopy is indicated depending on the size , location and judgement of your Gastro MD . from your description chances of losing your colon are low.

High grade dysplasia in a flat segment of the colon has premalignant potential. I recommend consulting a colorectal surgeon for evaluation and advice as segmental colectomy of that area of high grade dysplasia may well be recommended.
