Thyroid ultrasound shows right sided hyperemia, right lateral isthmic tr-3 module measuring 5x11mm, a cyst and another 5mm nodule on the right side. however the ultrasound also says no further follow up. my doc agreed. should i see an endocrinologist?

No, nodule in TR3 category does not require biopsy unless it is 25 mm or bigger.

Some benign thyroid nodules do have potential to turn malignant but the vast majority will not. However, radiologists don't see patients while we do. I'd like some followup for thyroid nodules at least for a short while. Some grow but stay benign. I found my patients had peace of.mind if an endocrinologist gave a stamp of approval.
