If urine is positive for both protein and blood, you need to see a nephrologist, not urologist. If you have lone hematuria, either macro or microscopic, urologist will see you first. Do not worry much at this time. If both protein and blood in the urine are confirmed with another urinalysis, nephrologist will carry out the investigation which likely includes a kidney biopsy.
