This can only be detected by X-ray or CT. This kind of diet is usually prescribed for uric acid stones. Re blood and stones, drink plenty of water and if blood does not clear see the Urologist again. Good luck

Unless you had previous stones examined the composition of the stone has yet to be determined. Straining your urine may help in getting the stone that can be analyzed and specific diet instructions can be made. Proper hydration helps will all stones.
