A member asked:

Is it common for ldl to suddenly increase from 155 to 205 (total cholesterol from 250 to 315) immediately after recovery from covid infection? will the lipid profile normalize over time? or does it need to be actively treated?

Time will tell. Just give it 6 months and check it again. Your individual numbers are based on genetics and diet. If these have changed after an episode of Covid, it is reasonable to expect them to return to baseline with full recovery, which may take months or a year. These numbers don't suggest active treatment would be needed now, if up or persisting in 6 mo, you can consider Rx with your doc.

I wonder if your significant increase of cholesterol levels was accompanied by elevated blood pressure and blood glucose. If so, dietary intervention along with regular exercise is deemed necessary.
