An increased lipase level that is not causing any symptoms is not a reason to go to the ER. Lipase takes longer to increase and then it decreases. It is possible your pancreas became mildly inflamed during your gastroenteritis. If you are feeling fine, perhaps just repeat the lipase level in a couple of weeks to see that it is decreasing. If you begin feeling ill, then go to the nearest ER.

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, why was the test done? If you do not have abdominal pain, you may watch and wait and repeat the test in 2-3 weeks. Wish you good health!
