Persistent diarrhea 6-8+/day&it wakes me at night, fatigue, lower abdominal pain left&right side. abscess in colon&rectum. numbness in hands& feet. crp 1.2, esr 93, rbc 3.47, bun creat 60. gi said ibs. is ibs misdiagnosis? why are my hands&feet numb?

Have you had a colonoscopy and EGD? IBS doesn’t typically wake someone from sleep. How many BMs per day? It sounds like you may have inflammatory bowel disease-either Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis. Biopsies during colonoscopy or EGD would be helpful. Have you been tested for Celiac disease? Perhaps you need a second opinion from another GI doctor. Best of luck to you?

Agree with Dr. Ferranti. You have markers of inflammation and may have anemia. It would be prudent to see a different doctor, start with a primary care provider for initial evaluation and consultation with a GI specialist. Wish you good health!
