Have focal active colitis in colon & rectum. colon is distended. have high crp & persistent diarrhea during day and it wakes me up at night/early morning. lower abdominal pain & tenderness, right & left side. doc checking for crohns. sound accurate?

What you described suggests inflammatory bowel disorder, Crohn being one. You may need a colonoscopy and biopsy to settle the issue. Wish you good health!

I agree that inflammatory bowel disease is quite likely here as simple.irritable colon doesn't usually awaken a person with intestinal tract symptoms. I assume you've had a stool culture to rule out colitis caused by enteric pathogens.
