Diarrhea w/ blood, nausea and abdominal pain x/5 months. egd/colonoscopy show inflammation in lower esophagus, stomach lining and inflammatory polyp in transverse colon. diagnosed with ibs-d but ibd info says does not cause inflammation? or visible?

Abbreviation does not clarify things, but I would say that Irritable Bowel Syndrome is different from Inflammatory Bowel disease like Crohn's disease that has inflammation of the bowels. EGD and colonoscopy being done suggest you were evaluated by a gastroenterologist and they had biopsies done that could help in diagnosis. Diarrhea 18 of past 30 days. Can IBS be this extreme? Miserable! egd, cscopy, CT ruled most things out but did find hems, mild antral gastritis, polyp + visible inflam in sigmoid (bx normal).
