Is a "mass of the left parotid gland" the same as a tumor? my ent said it is commonly found to be benign and scheduled me for a ct-scan with iv contrast?

A simple inflammation of the gland from a virus or other agent could give this appearance. The imaging study should give the doc enough information to decide to leave it to self-heal/treat or get a biopsy to discover its true origin.
