Right heart strain: This is usually related to right heart strain from lung disease or from pulmonary hypertension (high pressure in the pulmonary vascular bed). Patients with advanced copd/emphysema develop increased pressure in their lungs which causes the right side of the heart to dilate/enlarge. This in turn causes fluid retention in the legs/ankles (known as edema).

Other cause of block: Hida scan is a nuclear medicine test to check on the flow of bile from liver, into gallbladder, and bile ducts. Safe test. Results can be: normal; no visualization of dye in the gallbladder (may mean blockage by stone, inflammation-cholecystitis, less likely tumor); slow movementvisualization-may reflect liver trouble, blockage, inflammation of bile ducts; seen elsewhere than bil sys/gi-leakage.

Dr. Vance Harris
Family Medicine 37 years experience
See your Dr.: Hard to give a specific answer as the pelvic area is actually fairly large with a number of possibilities that may cause swelling. I would recommend seeing your dr. And having a good exam. Impossible to give you a good answer in this kind of forum. Good luck.
