See your doctor or a: Hematologist (blood specialist) to determine if you have thalassemia, sickle-cell disease, g6pd deficiency or other inherited hemoglobinopathy that destroys red blood cells. Other causes are not making enough red blood cells, having dietary iron deficiency or losing microscopic amounts of blood from intestines or bladder on a long- term basis. Being chronically anemic can impact your health.
