Short term memory prolems can be caused by many things including lack of sleep, postpartum, hangover, medications, illness (sinusitis), etc. If you notice this happening frequently, talk to your regular Dr about a complete neurological exam. Extremely rare to have a memory specific diagnosis under 30.

We all forget names, places, and things every day. Don't be worried unless you forget the name of your child or where you live. When you see the cat, think of name or item that reminds you of the cat's name.
