My 12 year old injured her ankle yesterday. she is unable to bear weight without significant pain. she had an xray but the md forgot to call us with results and now office closed till monday. can an md look at her xray to see if there is a fracture?

The office should have an emergency number where you can reach a doctor who should be able to look this up for you. Normally such X-rays are read promptly by a radiologist and if a fracture was noted it is reported more promptly. Not hearing is relatively encouraging but you are correct to look for a definite answer.

Some of your question is not clear. If the doc who ordered the x-ray looked at it, they would immediately discover an obvious break. The final review by a radiologist to look for subtle issues might take longer. This site does not permit us to look at x-rays/photos/write notes or do other direct care.

If the image was obtained at an imaging center or at a. hospital, you should be able to obtain the report directly. An evaluation is indicated since the inability to weight bear and pain may indicate a fracture. . Rest and elevate the ankle and application of a cool pa k is often effective.
