Relax: Dog ticks do not carry lyme disease. Was the tick engorged with blood? It is not absolutely essential to remove all the head. The body will shed it. Save the tick to show thedr. Wash the scalp well. If in doubt, the dr may wish to give a single dose of antibiotic. The remainder of the tick can be scraped out tomarrow if you wish.
