By Mayo clinic website: "most uterine polyps are noncancerous (benign). However, some precancerous changes of the uterus (endometrial hyperplasia) or uterine cancers (endometrial carcinomas) appear as uterine polyps. Your doctor will likely recommend removal of the polyp and will send a tissue sample for lab analysis to be certain you don't have uterine cancer". Please discuss with your GYN doc.

If the "impression of a polyp" was reported after a simple traditional "vaginal ultrasound", it would seem best to confirm the diagnosis more definitively by an office procedure called a "saline infusion sonohysterogram" performed by a credentialed skilled gyn sonographer who can also measure the thickness of the lining of your endometrium and answer your concerns.
