Uterine polyps: The ultrasound is accurate in determining whether blood flow is present with larger blood vessels such as are in ovarian tissue, but a polyp may have very small capillary blood flow, which may not show on TV ultrasound. Any living tissue has to have blood supply, and a uterine polyp is no exception. Most uterine polyps are harmless and do not interfere with normal life processes.
