No, there is no restriction in DNR in adult. If you do not want to be resuscitated under any circumstances, you can choose DNR and that is your health care's right. But what your doctor said is understandable to any health care provider.

There are no formal age restrictions on medical orders for life sustaining therapy. Context is always needed and such decisions are relatively unusual in young patients with no known life limiting medical conditions.
