I'it's most likely an area of gum injury, or irritation/inflammation but it doesn't appear to be an infection. Rinse on & off with warm salt water. If worsening or not improving, be seen by the dentist.

Pain from cleaning is from irritated gums that needed a good cleaning. Pain under tooth could be a cavity. Red lesion is probably a canker sore and or irritation from cleaning and brushing. Pain will subside, but under tooth pain if continues, needs an x-ray. Use a soft toothbrush and practice good oral hygiene.

Dental cleaning g reaches places that you cannot reach h, or have neglected clean ing, resulting in damage to your gums. Sometimes the damaged gum tissues require aggressive treatment modalities. If concerned, talk it over with your Dentist/Hygienist. And to help prevent this the next time you have a cleaning, floss DAILY.
