A member asked:

Suspected for acute pancreatitis in march 2022 and the lipase levels returned to normal in 30 hours. i met various specialists and blood tests and us normal. gastro said to forget about pancreatitis, but i have persistent pains and sometimes diarrhea?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The lipase levels are the accepted marker for irritation/injury to the pancreas. Normal levels means any prior issue has resolved. The abdomen is full of other structures that can be a source of discomfort and diarrhea is as non- specific as any sign can be. Follow up with your regular doc when and if the need arises. A source will either become more evident or the issue will self heal over time.
