Can fluid in ear cause the lymph node there to swell slightly and cause some pain? my dr said fluid is clear and no fever etc so he doesnt think infection just allergies. can a node swell if no infection? said to try allegra d or zyrtec. thx?

There is no lymph node in the middle ear where the fluid is. The increased pressure in the middle ear causes your pain. When the inflammation comes down with medication, fluid is reabsorbed and drained out, pain is relieved. You can take Tylenol for pain as needed besides pill and inhaler for the allergy.
