With ovulation induction, the "trigger" shot is HCG, and the effects will indicate a positive ovulation well past the actual day of egg release. This kind of ovulation induction can be determined by a transvaginal ultrasound, which will indicate that a follicle most likely to release an egg (i.e., "ovulate") will not be visible on ultrasound when it was prior to the "trigger shot".
