I have experienced severe itching in both ears for the past 5 months. i've seen 2 ents who can't conclude as to what may be causing it. acetic drops help temporarily. i've passed all hearing tests. what else could be causing it? the tiny hairs? tmj?

I would try a steroid cream as a therapeutic diagnosis. If the itching is relieved after 3-5 days, allergy can be the culprit and at that time you have to recall if you have exposed to something new in the previous 5 months such as hairspray, shampoo, certain foods, etc. Tiny hairs can be seen by an ear exam with otoscope and rarely bilateral and TMJ does not cause itching of the ear canals.
