Hello doctors. is it possible to go from a egfr of 56 six months ago to stage 4 or worse kidney disease? i am waiting blood and urine tests from the lab and i am thinking anxiously?

The pace of GFR change depends on the etiology of kidney disease. Usually, we check renal function test at least monthly if patient is on active treatment for an acute problem. The last blood test you had was 6 months ago so kidney function is likely stable and chronic so it's very unlikely your GFR will drop below 30 (stage 4) with blood test this month. Do not worry much and take care!
