Hpylori pac treatment failed. i am prescribed sultamicillin, doxycycline and ppi 2x a day for 15 days. i had a dbt, shldnt bismuth be added to increase eradication rate? should i recheck with my doctor or can take over the counter? pls advice?

Current data suggest that H. pylori antibiotic resistance rates are high worldwide and increasing. Your next antibiotic regimen should include the following, Clarithromycin-based regimen, any PPI (standard dose¶) Twice daily for 14 days, Clarithromycin (500 mg) Twice daily, Amoxicillin (1 gram) twice daily, and Metronidazole or tinidazole (500 mg) twice daily. Discuss with your PCP. Good Luck.
