A member asked:

I heard sulfonamide class of diuretic like furosemide should never be given to patients with liver cirrhosis(ascites)because it has amine in their structure and leads to ammonia formation and that makes the situation a little harder. is that true?

Never heard of that one and been giving it since 1967. Go to drugs.com and check it out. Then discuss with your Dr.
