A member asked:

I had a ct scan in december due to a car accident . the ct scan said my appendix is normal. i had my appendix out in 2005. is this a common mistake on ct scans? how can i trust anything about this ct scan now?

If you, in fact, did have an appendectomy, ask your MD to sit down with the interpreting radiologist & review the images together. Either the radiologist made a mistake or interpreted the stump or any postoperative changes as a normal appendix.
