Yes: A CT scan doesn't tell whether the appendix is functioning normally. (We don't really know what the appendix does!) And certainly there is potential for error in any radiologic imaging test. If you don't have an appendix, then that's not what they saw on the exam. It is worthwhile to speak with the doctor who ordered the exam, and clarify what is happening.
