Enterocolitis?: Thickened colon is usually sign of inflamed or infected bowel such as Enterocolitis. Your doctor can do blood tests, stool sampling , other imaging to exclude or confirm this diagnosis. Sometimes endoscopy is utilized. Medical therapy, antibiotics and antiinflammatory drugs , may be used.
