A member asked:

Progressive unilateral tinnitus/snhl since 2009- 1.5t contrast enhanced mri of iam/brain in 2013 normal, 1.5t mri in 2014 brain and iam protocol also normal but 2014 mri was without contrast. is the second mri still reliable if no contrast used?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Presume MRI's were done due to hearing loss and tinnitus, and from your report, no sign of acoustic neuroma or other lesions. Since the last MRI was done 7-8 yrs ago, things may have changed. Discuss with your doctor whether an updated evaluation is indicated.
