Progressive idiopathic severe unilateral hearing loss & tinnitus starting since 2009. normal mri of iam/brain in 2013 & 2014. recently tinnitus got worse but suspect due to stress and potential side effect of covid vaccine. does mri need repeated?

I doubt if it would give you any useful information. The nerve endings that are being lost in this process are microscopic or sub microscopic. Examination under an electron microscope might reveal the actual process, but that requires tissue samples from the inner ear. The MRI would not do that.
