29yr old male w/ gastritis for 10mo's, mild inflam. cause? overeating at consecutive buffets w/ alc? ~3drinks/wk. no drugs/prescripts. gi dr. says not stress. not h. pyl, not hiv. endoscopy & ct scan revealed nothing serious. ppis & pepto not working?

You don't describe your symptoms. Did the endoscopy show inflammation of the stomach lining? If so when was it performed? If it was months ago should it be repeated? Are you taking the PPI in the morning before eating so as to prevent acid secretion by your stomach? Are you on maximal dose? Do you feel stressed? Do you take NSAID' s like advil or aleve? Should you seek a second opinion?

Endoscopy results show minimal chronic gastritis with mild stromal fibrosis. Taking PPIs for 3 years for Barretts Esophagus. I have never seen stromal fibrosis on my pathology - what does this mean? Is it benign? Appt next week but worried?
