Nature exposure can surely lift your mood but I, myself, do not believe that beneficial effect is due to body recharged with negative ions although there are some talks about this topic.

Yes, getting outside, especially in the sunshine, can lift doleful moods, but may not last more than a few hours. Better are consistent habits, such as taking walks for 20-30 minutes, 3-4 times weekly. Mindfulness/ meditation seems of value also. Of course, healthy dietary interventions, and consistent dehydration also helps.
