How to get out of a negative low mood, without going to a psychiatrist?

Call Your family doc: Often your family doc can help you with this and local conselors/therapists can be of great value as well. Your doc can evaluate you and likely able to prescribe medication to help you, possibly along with some therapy. So, it is not necessary that you have to see a psychiatrist. I would call doc as soon as it is feasible. Good luck.

See below: Look for positives every day -- do a positive summary of a day lived -- best thing you laughed at, best food you ate, good people you've interacted with, etc. Look at positive things in your environment and inside yourself, learn self care. Look at your past positive achievements and how they relate to your present. You might want to find a counselor who can guide you through the process.
