A member asked:

My son is autistic and he has seriously regressed after a procedure under general anesthesia. what can i do to help him?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

From a review of such situations in the medical literature, there appears to be no permanent issues from uncomplicated anesthesia, but would have your doctor evaluate him. Perhaps images of brain could be done to exclude any new vascular problems, and blood studies may also help. The post-op issues otherwise should resolve soon.
