A member asked:

My lipase level is 201.8 (pancreas) and the next available appointment for my doctor is in march. should i go to hospital tomorrow?

Your elevated lipase is consistent with pancreatitis but can be seen in other digestive tract inflammation or cirrhosis of the liver. You should proceed to the emergency room where prompt care, testing & access to any needed specialists are available

The doctor who ordered your lipase will be best to coordinate. If you have no symptoms and your lipase is going down you do not need to go to the hospital, but rather have an explanation of what it is going to be next by your doc. If indeed having severe abdominal pain or bleeding for example going to the hospital would be best.
