Any abnormal bleeding needs to be evaluated. It may be as simple as hemorrhoids, however, even hemorrhoidal bleeding can cause anemia. It would be prudent to see your primary care provider of an initial assessment and to ascertain if you need to see a GI doctor. Wish you and your mom good health!
