Nope: The test will just indicate whether there is blood present in the stool. A positive test needs to be followed up with your doctor to perform additional tests to rule out cancer.

Yes, it can: Yes, there are tests that can detect whether you have blood in your stool. These are called fecal occult blood tests. When used appropriately, they can be part of colorectal cancer screening. The gold standard for detecting colorectal cancer is still colonoscopy. The newest fecal occult test actually detect other proteins that can be an early warning for cancer (FIT test).
