A member asked:

My daughter needs her vaccinations for 7th grade and one of them is a "live" vaccine. she is on a potent steroid called budesonide and i've read that you should wait until you stop taking the steroid to get a live vaccine into your system. true?

Budesonide is an inhaled solution. She may have the live vaccination if she is not severely immunocompromised. Please follow up with your pediatrician and the AAP recommended schedule. If she takes oral budesonide more details are needed to answer the question, and please follow up.
