A member asked:

Hi i recently had a kidney ultrasound and the result was that there is mild prominence of calyces in the right kidney suspicioua for mild hydronepheos?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Stone? Pregnant?: If you had the ultrasound for acute pain you might have, or passed, a kidney stone. If you are pregnant this mild distention can occur as a normal part pregnancy as the uterus enlarges to accommodate the baby. Best to followup with a urologist to be sure.
