A member asked:

My kidney ultrasound says there is some hypo echogenicity in the internal echo complex possibly a dilated infundibular and calyceal region. possible prominence of the lower pole collecting system. i have only the one kidney. what does this mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

If you have had earlier ultrasound -it should be compared to that to see if there is any change. Ultrasound often is not specific- as the report indicates ('possibly.') The report implies If your kidney function tests are normal and you have no symptoms, best is to visit your Urologist/nephrologist for follow-up advice or a Ct scan for definitive answer. Good luck
