Hydronephrosis: Describes a kidney that has enlarged due to obstruction.The obstruction can be at the level of the kidney or anywhere distal to to its course. This can be congenital anatomical variance. The most common cause is a kidney stone. Consider blood and micro-urine analysis as well as a ct urogram to better delineate why you have mild hydro.

Usually no problem: Mild hydronephrosis significant if an obstructing stone. In which case u would be in pain & probably have blood cells in urine & should be under a urologist. Most cases of mild hydronephrosis have been there from birth & due to mild temporary partial obstruction to kidney drainage & don't change suggest do nothing but repeat ultrasound in 6 months if no pain or blood in urine. C urologist if pain.
