Fullness: Dilatation of the renal pelvis can imply some distension of the renal collecting system. Such a finding can reflect reflux of urine up the ureter, a stricture of the ureter, a stone partially blocking the ureter or a manifestation of a renal infection. Sometimes a blood vessel can press on the ureter and cause mild stasis of urine and dilatation or the pelvis.
