Medical renal diseas: Ultrasound exam of kidneys can show dilatation of collecting system or hydronephrosis or medical renal disease involving parenchyma usually with increased echogenicity, brighter than normal. Sounds like possibly some medical problem as opposed to obstructive problem.Medical renal disease correlated with blood tests of function of kidneys.
