Follow up with an urologist with expertise in kidney tumors will be needed and the doc who ordered the test should be able to coordinate locally. The primary care physician may serve in that role as well if study was done while inpatient.

Renal cyst categorized as bosniak 3 is an intermediate cyst and half of the case is malignant. If the cyst is bigger than 5 cm, biopsy should be done. If it's smaller than 5 cm, you can choose observation and have a follow up scan in 3-6 months. The decision is also partly dependent on how safe the surgery (total or partial nephrectomy) is.
