sounds like a chalazion which is blocked oil gland in the eyelid. Warm compresses are best and if no decrease in swelling in a few days see an ophthalmologist.

Definitely warm compresses as often as you can while the stye (hordeolum) is red, tender or swollen. If it becomes a smaller and hard, it is likely too late and it has formed a granuloma (chalazion) that may need to be excised.
