A member asked:

Now some say that the risk for cancer for those that had cryptorchidism is 2-5% if done at infancy. others say before puberty and others before the age of 1, the risk isn't high. i'm confused. if done at infancy (don't remember year), should i worry?

Discuss with a Dr. who knows you. We do not. As Yogi Berra said: It is difficult to make predictions. Especially about the future. But your team knows your facts and will be much better than we can.

The first statistic is correct. Correction after that age is shown to cause poor development and increases chances of malignancy . The exact statistics vary because there has been no prospective study and therefore the statistics cited are retrospective and therefore vary. Do not be confused. The accepted and recommended time of treatment is in early infancy.
