Yes. The entrance to the stomach is just to the left of and behind the heart. Any activity that transfers pressure to that area, like a deep breath, may trigger discomfort when there is active irritation of that structure.

Conceivably with the understanding that musculoskeletal causes remain among the most common causes of chest pain at rest. Difficulties in diagnosing and treating them and their rather limited life threatening potential make them unattractive in diagnostic algorithms.
