The entrance to the stomach is just left of and behind the heart. Focal sharp/brief or longer pain can be from the irritation caused by backwash of stomach acid at that site. The lay term heart burn is common and well suited.

"Sharp, stabbing chest pain is non-cardiac and is not due to POTS. Precipitation by deep breath suggest chest wall pain of musculoskeletal origin. I do not know what "precordial catch syndrome" is. Was the tilt test done for this reason? Would recommend an appointment with your doctor for examination including palpation of chest wall, intercostal muscles etc.
