I have been diagnosed with a carpal boss that occured after an injury. when i press on the bump it's painful, but so is the area around it. when i press/touch on my bone lower from bump it hurts a lot. why's that? is the tissue or the bone damaged?

Please re-write your question. Don't know what a carpal boss is. You are describing a ganglion cyst (Google it).

Hi, carpal boss is associated with pain. The bossing (osseous prominence) can exhibit mass effect on the surrounding soft tissues and cause inflammation and swelling and therefore add to the aforementioned bone pain. The doctor that diagnosed your carpal boss should now talk to you about treatment options. Good luck.
